has an exciting and rewarding opportunity in our Greenwich, NY office for an experienced Construction Sales Engineer.
Fort Miller is a New York based manufacturer of specialized precast concrete products for the construction industry.
This is a professional and technical position for an individual who has experience in selling, communicating, and working with contractors, agencies, and related construction professionals in the Northeastern U.
S.
market.
This opportunity is a consultative sales position that involves providing our customers with information, engineering concepts, and practical approaches to incorporating precast concrete as a solution to their project needs.
The ideal candidate will be driven and self-motivated.
Responsibilities of our Construction Sales Engineer:
Develop relationships with current and future customers with a focus on the New York City and New Jersey markets.
Collaborate internally with other departments to bring new and innovative precast product offerings to our customers.
Search for and identify construction projects that incorporate precast concrete.
Prepare cost estimates and write formal, detailed, technical proposals after reviewing the contract plans and project specifications.
Be proficient with understanding, marketing and selling retaining wall products and our patented Super-Slab pavement slab system.
Negotiate price and contract terms with customers.
Communicate with outside consulting engineers, architects, contractors, freight haulers, and material suppliers to obtain materials, price quotes, and project specific information.
Manage all aspects of a project when needed, from preparation of the sales proposal to delivery of the final product.
Travel (occasionally) to project meetings, construction sites to provide technical assistance, and industry gatherings such as trade shows, conferences, association dinners, etc.
Prepare reports and spreadsheets by collecting, analyzing and summarizing past sales data.
Qualifications of our Construction Sales Engineer:
A Bachelor's degree in a technically-related construction industry field (construction management, engineering technology, engineering science, etc.
).
Minimum of 5-10 years of technical or technical sales experience in the construction industry.
Strong verbal communication / writing / analytical skills and a professional demeanor.
Ability to work on multiple projects in an environment with constant interruptions and manage critical time deadlines.
Excellent attention to detail.
Work effectively in a team-based environment with fellow associates across several different departments, including; Engineering, Scheduling, Production, Quality Assurance, Dispatch, and General Administration.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other computer programs.
Familiarity with AutoCAD is not required, but a plus.
Knowledge of retaining wall design is a plus.
